Description:

Focused on the Government Market Segment, the person in this position will build and implement VWR’s vision, strategy and tactics for delivering profitable sales growth in the defined Industry Segments of Defense and Government. Specific account targets will be the focal point within each of these Market Segments. It will be the Director’s responsibility to lead VWR’s sales effort with the identified accounts by coordinating a matrix-selling environment consisting of Sales Representatives, Region Managers and Area Vice Presidents. The Director will also manage the national pricing in conjunction with the pricing coordinator to maintain profitability and competitiveness for growth, and negotiate with manufactures to leverage specific pricing and programs. The Director will also be closely tied to VWR’s Category Management Team in West Chester, PA, ensuring that VWR is presenting the right products, suppliers and marketing collateral to the defined Market Segments. The expectation is that the Director will conduct conference calls monthly to assure all efforts are in sync and progressing forward. The Director will attend key local and national trade conferences to gain Market knowledge and further refine VWR’s Market strategy. It is expected that this position will require approximately 35% travel. This position will report to the Eastern Zone General Manager and attend all Zone Staff meetings. Job Description

The Coverage Specialist supports multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Materials Operator, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and /or emergency situations occur. Job Description

Perform all receiving functions related to any chemical that is delivered to customer site locations. Identify and enter chemicals into the site container tracking system. Return to the stockroom any chemical used by researchers so that the product is visible by others who may request and use.Properly re-name and barcode chemicals returned to the stockroom which may involve identifying, re-naming and barcoding prior to placing into inventory. Determine proper chemical segregation and place item(s) in the appropriate location based on hazard classification. Locate, dispense, and prepare to ship or deliver chemicals in a timely basis. May perform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses. Create and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Receive and dispense various chemicals (currently 4000+) as requested by global chemistry research staff. This may involve identifying, re-naming and barcoding prior to placing into inventory.
* Identify proper containers to transport, deliver, and potentially ship chemicals and compounds to six Novartis locations around the world. This may involve weighing and repacking.
* Daily fulfillment of chemical orders from GDC Researchers (250MA Location Only).
* Utilizing the inventory management system, dispense chemicals from containers to researchers or requester. Prepare orders for shipment.
* Chemical orders from chemistry personnel are received by stockroom staff and checked for accuracy, registered into inventory database, assigned to the user and returned to the loading dock. Add enhanced descriptions when registering containers including adding relevant details such as concentration, mixture, etc.
* Laboratory Intermediates Management (250MA Only).
* Segregate all incoming chemicals and those returned by scientists in the stockroom by hazard class, DOT requirements, etc.
* Properly dispose of all expired and out of date chemicals; evaluated chemicals and mixtures for quality and safety; disposed of when appropriate. Keep record of disposals.
* Delivery and pick up of stockroom orders to/from the labs.
* Store sensitive materials in Cold Storage Refrigerator.
* Maintenance of SciQuest Inventory.
* Maintain the accuracy of the chemical inventory by scanning all bottles in the stockroom and in the labs.
* Participate in lab cleanouts.
* Prepare appropriate shipping paperwork for requested chemicals to be delivered via inter-campus or to other global customer location.s

Job Description:

The individual in this position will work at a customer site ensuring that end user expectations for VWR products and services are met and exceeded. The main function of this position is to review, maintain and adjust inventory levels throughout the site, according to the demand of the customer population. This function includes replenishing/restocking storerooms three times weekly, along with performing all ordering and receiving tasks as required. Job Description

Responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Communicates with customers as required and, with the Transportation Department, develops inbound and outbound freight schedules.

Job Description

Responsible for purchasing non-core commodity products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies. The Third Party Buyer is responsible for all aspects of daily order management and is able to solve complex problems with innovation and ingenuity. Job Description

* Responsible for accurate receiving, storage and shipping of product to meet company standards of sanitation, safety, security and productivity
* Counts, reports, and checks products for all inbound freight and shipments.
* Unloads inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.

Job Description

The Production Scheduler will lead daily meetings regarding the creation and maintenance of the divisional production schedules including publisher, custom and catalog kits. Additionally, this role will be a key leader in the planning and supply of component assemblies. This role will interface with key colleagues in the business to assure customer promises are met and any falldown is communicated in a pro-active manner. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for the maintenance of the production schedule for VWR Science Education’s internally manufactured assemblies (including assemblies performed by third party contract providers). The analyst will partner with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, kit development, and publisher marketing group to schedule and assess delivery of all requirements. This person will manage the process to surface shortages and seek resolution to balance supply and demand while providing superior customer service.

* Responsible for managing the quality, effectiveness and continued improvement of learning programs across the organization.

Manage the preparation of external and internal financial reporting including all periodic Securities & Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings. Work closely with different functions including Corporate Consolidations, Global Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury and internal and external auditors. Job Description

Supervising, managing and maintaining the Import Compliance Organization and provide day-to-day for VWR’s import activities to all businesses that are importing into the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Providing a management-level interface with all VWR International entities and functions to provide guidance on current and future import regulatory requirements as they relate to VWR’s Import business plans and future product offerings. As part of this, stay current with all proposed and approved regulatory changes that could impact VWR’s importation of products into these countries. Develop and oversee periodic import compliance training for personnel in the Import Compliance Organization. As part of this, work with third party consultants when appropriate to assure interesting and high quality classes. Serve as VWR’s United States Import Compliance Administrator and primary interface with local Customs and other affected regulatory agencies when issues arise. Identify all VWR associates that initiate import shipments. Assure that they have the training and qualifications necessary to assure that the shipments they undertake are in compliance with all import and other government agency regulations. On all shipments that require an import permit, OGA requirements, labeling to assure that vendor shipments are in compliance with regulatory requirements prior to cargo movements. Serve as the primary interface with the VWR Legal Department and outside legal counsel on export issues including, but not limited to denied parties, embargoed countries, antiboycott issues and red flag issues for the Import Business. Maintain and update the Import Compliance Manual and related standard operating procedures. Works with the Manager, Europe Import/Export Compliance and Manager, Global Export Compliance to identify and develop global work processes for exports into their respective areas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for network architecture, design and support in a variety of technology areas. Key aspects of the architecture role will include the optimization of in-house technologies, industry offerings and best practices to drive high levels of quality into the network and deliver long term solutions. The Coordinator is responsible for carrying out basic tasks at a customer site or multiple customer sites in a region. Job Description

Responsible for the day to day operation of the warehouse with the emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans. Responsible for supervising up to 15-20 warehouse material handlers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse.
* Develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operation.
* Applies sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, coaching and disciplining employees.
* Directs and supervises all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
* Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems.
* Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.
* Allocates equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner.
* Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that a sound maintenance program is implemented.
* Interacts with other departmental management to achieve goals.
* Attends warehouse planning meetings.
* Ensures that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.
* Reviews operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
* Supervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
* Reviews warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.
* Ensures that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
* Operates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
* Maintains stock locator system.
* Ensures proper stock rotation.
* Assists in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.

Desired Experience


* 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution center. Experience working with warehouse and distribution applications and Microsoft Office suite. Previous experience supervising union associates a preference.
* Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.

* 4 year college degree required. An emphasis in supply chain management a plus.

Job Description

The Coordinator is responsible for carrying out basic tasks at a customer site or multiple customer sites in a region. All of which can include but not limited to, inventory management, purchasing, shipping, receiving, chemical tracking, storeroom tracking, and even product delivery. The Coordinator position requires knowledge and application of VWR and routine customer systems. Reporting and customer interaction is typically of a routine nature.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Perform inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead stock, conduct cycle counting and yearly inventories, and reporting, etc. Increase VWR revenue by controlling customer spend, provide daily customer service functions and interface with the customer relative to inventory management.
* Perform purchasing functions such as providing level 2 and 3 ESS support (B/O, DFS, or 3P Support), managing quotes, document control, filing and records maintenance, sorting and monitoring reclaimed and recyclable material, resolving open invoices/pricing, and forecasting, etc Responsible for all customer service related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, basic cross referencing and product conversions to VWR brand or best buy products, maintaining metrics, and cost avoidance, etc.
* Perform shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material (including hazardous materials), answering customer calls, handling routine issues, operating a hand-jack and forklift, entering relevant shipping information into the customer computer system, and maintaining inspections on safety stations and equipment. Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
* Interface directly with customer POC, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc. responsible for managing consigned, non-consigned, customer owned and 3rd party inventory onsite at the customer location.
* Utilize VWR and basic customer computer systems (ESS,Citrix, Info Access, Intranet, StockTracker, ChemSW, and customer specific ERP systems as well as customer specific shipping systems ) in fulfillment of job duties.
* Meet goals and objectives: revenue, safety, performance and quality.
* Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
* Interfacing with manufacture reps.
* Document SPI Requests.

Job Description

Accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. Develops and implements agreed upon Operating Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer sales in the assigned geography. Job Description

This person will be responsible for growing and maintaining sales in key accounts throughout Southern California in pre-specified geographic zip codes. These accounts will include school districts; K-12 schools; private schools; purchasing consortiums and buy boards; and local and state educational agencies; as well as specific charter; virtual/digital; and home school consortiums. The Services Glass Washer collects, washes, dries, and sterilizes all glassware and laboratory supplies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operate washing and sterilization equipment such as an autoclave to ensure the proper care of laboratory glassware.
* Distribute clean and sterile glassware to areas within the laboratory.
* Maintain inventory of glassware and glass-washing supplies; order and replace items as needed.

Job Description

The Technician is responsible for carrying out routine tasks at a customer site, all of which can include: receiving (packages), point of use replenishment (inventory), production packaging, chemical repacking, cylinder delivery and pickup, managing dry ice and liquid nitrogen dispensing, waste disposal and glass washing. Job Description

The Coordinator is responsible for carrying out basic tasks at a customer site or multiple customer sites in a region. All of which can include but not limited to, inventory management, purchasing, shipping, receiving, chemical tracking, storeroom tracking, and even product delivery. The Coordinator position requires knowledge and application of VWR and routine customer systems. Reporting and customer interaction is typically of a routine nature.

QC management of chemical sampling operations and GMP chemical handling and storage nationally. Position will also support GMP controls and oversight of clean room operations. Additional responsibilities to include GDP controls in relation to production business in the Western Zone.

Job Description

To work with business leaders to select projects and productivity process improvements that align with business goals and strategies. Uses analytical methods and tools to understand, predict, improve and/or control logistics operations and processes.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


* Provides leadership and direction for effective data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping and/or root cause analysis.
* Evaluates current practices, procedures, processes for effectiveness, SOP compliance, productivity impact, streamlining opportunities and continuous process improvement.
* Collaborates with Operations Management providing performance information, direction, coaching, opportunites, project planning, change management and process compliance with company policies/procedures.
* Responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support logistics management.
* Clarifies and resolves complex business issues.
* Performs research and benchmarking of industry best practices related to warehousing, supply chain management and transportation.
* Regularly and systematically interacts with process owners and users to obtain feedback and to verify performance.
* Writes SOPs and training documents to establish standard work and develops initial documents for new processes and systems.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* College Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years direct experience in a similar position.
* Advanced skill in software applications like Access, SQL, Visual Basic, Visio required.
* Labor Management ( Manhatten software ) a plus.
* Knowledge of Lean Logistics, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Requires excellent project and people management skills and a strong understanding of logistics.
* Ability to motivate associates using effective interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
* Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and able to manage vendor/business relationships.
* Excellent organizational skills are necessary.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word.
* Independent decision-making, resolution skills and strong problem identification skills.

Job Description

The Labor Relations Specialist partners with functional business leaders and associates within VWR to implement key HR processes and programs. This role is responsible for providing strategic HR support in the areas of labor and employee relations, compliance, diversity, performance management, HR analysis, process redesign, succession planning, organizational development and career development.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


* Responsible for the implementation and administration of positive and effective system-wide labor relations program which promotes the long and short-term labor relations strategies under general direction of the Director of Labor Relations.
* Administers and interprets the collective bargaining agreement, monitors the disciplinary process, oversees grievance and/or arbitration procedures.
* Represents management in labor relations, including the negotiation, interpretation, and administration of collective bargaining agreement.
* Maintains records and monitors compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
* Counsels and advises managers for assigned functional areas on HR issues.
* Provides day-to-day employee relation support for area management and associates
* Facilitates collaborative problem solving strategies to resolve employee relations’ issues through effective communication with all levels of employees.
* Leads in implementing VWR HR policies and procedures as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these programs.
* Assists assigned functional teams with the understanding of these programs
* Ensures that functional teams are trained on recruiting procedures and that appropriate attention is placed on employee retention issues.
* Works with functional leaders to ensure that performance reviews are done in a timely manner.
* Works to ensure that career and training opportunities are being identified.
* Assists management team in developing skills to manage human resources effectively through modeling, coaching, instruction and training.
* Participates in functional staff meetings and provides HR insights on business issues when necessary. Manages projects and/or participates as a project member on company-wide HR initiatives.
* Supports and champions organizational change initiatives and assists field leaders as necessary.
* Prevent employee relations issues and resolve employee issues in a timely manner
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Requires a bachelor's degree in industrial relations or related discipline. Master's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
* Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
* Bilingual in Spanish - required
* 3 + years' experience in labor relations in a unionized setting, with demonstrated success in building positive employee and labor relations programs required.
* Experience in managing of collective bargaining agreements and delivering management training programs.
* Contract interpretation and application is required. Solid knowledge of the NLRA.
* Experience supporting functional Operations such as Customer Service, Transportation, and Distribution
* A background managing performance under engineered standards, process engineering and labor management standards would be preferred

* Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Description

The Services Glass Washer collects, washes, dries, and sterilizes all glassware and laboratory supplies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operate washing and sterilization equipment such as an autoclave to ensure the proper care of laboratory glassware.
* Distribute clean and sterile glassware to areas within the laboratory.
* Maintain inventory of glassware and glass-washing supplies; order and replace items as needed.
* May collect and sterilize lab coats, scrubs, and related items.
* May handle bio hazard waste for decontamination.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Technician is responsible for carrying out routine tasks at a customer site, all of which can include: receiving (packages), point of use replenishment (inventory), production packaging, chemical repacking, cylinder delivery and pickup, managing dry ice and liquid nitrogen dispensing, waste disposal and glass washing. Must be cognizant of and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Facilitate an order for consumable lab inventory replenishment; enter orders into computer systems, Web, etc.
* Receive inbound shipments from UPS, Fed-ex, and other common carriers.
* Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
* Resolve all shipping errors.
* Manage customer’s warehouse inventory including delivery product replenishment (may require driving between facilities to deliver product).
* Perform glass wash duties.
* Dispense production material into predetermined containers to prepare for shipping to customer.
* Handling and managing chemicals.
* Maintain and check eye wash stations.
* Basic shipping duties.
* May require traveling to customer sites.
* Perform other duties as assigned.



Desired Experience


* 2 -4 years equivalent experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service.
* Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plus.
* Valid Driver’s License and transportation.
* Forklift Certification a plus.
* Previous experience working in a GMP facility a plus.

* High School Diploma or GED required.
